AR Drainage was born when work colleagues Anthony and Ryan set up a business together. Both experienced in construction, they had grown frustrated by the way clients generally bought on price, while they took pride in their workmanship, and were happy to provide a follow up warranty.

That frustration led the pair to look for a niche allied to construction, where they could also offer an ongoing service element. Drainage attracted them, as it was an unloved discipline, albeit one where a distressed purchase – getting a blockage fixed – could often lead to a long term client relationship. Drain Doctors Wales – which later became AR Drainage – was born.

Having done the hard yards of delivering on their 24 hours a day response promise, the pair grew the business out of their base in Caerphilly, south Wales. With other commitments, Ryan departed the business, leaving Anthony to grow it to its current position, as a premier provider of drainage services, covering emergency unblocking, regular maintenance and cleaning, and construction across a broad range of groundwork from foundations to drain remediation, in-situ drain repairs, rip-out and renewals of drains, plus retaining walls and new drainage schemes.

Still based in Caerphilly, the group now operates across the south west and on contracts all across the UK, working on everything from domestic toilet blockages, to regular supermarket and restaurant chain checks and clearouts, to new build projects where the team can design out problems at the installation stage, based on their unique practical experience.

The business retains a strong commitment to the local community, seeking to only employ local staff, sourcing key supplies locally, and backing community initiatives.
